4 Tips For Progress & Consistency With Your Wellness Routine

4 tools for the best organization + progress

So, this week was interesting.  There were big lessons in self-love and serving others while balancing it all. It was challenging, however, some GREAT tools came across my path to help with my wellness routine and I know they will help you too.

#1 Meal Planning

Mom’s Bistro. Wow! What a wonderful blog.  She plans monthly budget/kid friendly meals and gives you the estimated cost of a month’s worth of meals.  I was hooked when I saw a menu of 31 meals totally $141.  Say what?

So, I got to work immediately.  We have been spending too much money on eating out due to not planning ahead of time. I was ready to put an end to it, and meal planning is such a great way to manage your wellness routine.

We ate “Chicken” Quesadillas, Spaghetti, and Sloppy Joes this week.  Jeremiah has loved these new recipes.  He said “Mama where are you getting these new meal ideas from? ‘Cause wherever you are getting them you need to keep getting them!” LOL.  It wasn’t hard to make a vegetarian option either.  For each meal, I prepared a vegetarian option for myself right alongside the meal I made for the J’s.

I was telling a friend about this blog just yesterday and she asked me to send it to her!  I thought it might also be helpful to you so I’m passing it along to you.  Let me know if you love it or not, in the comments.

I use these oh-so-colorful menu planning printables to plan my meals for the week and post for the J’s, that way they can see what we are having for dinner.

I rearranged and omitted a few of the meals.  I hope they help you as much as they’ve helped me stay organized on the home front as mom and home manager.

#2 Time Management

That quote reels me in every time, I tell you.  Let it sink in for a minute, because you may miss it.

Do you sometimes forget things that you meant to get done already? Or do you feel too busy with family or work, and then too tired afterward to do some of the “other stuff” like things you want to work on for you—working out, journaling, a new class, reading or studying a new topic.

I know.  Me too. I fall into these phases where I get started on something with lots of passionate energy, but then life comes in and takes me away with busyness.  I figured out something this week that helps me keep my wellness routine consistent. Well, it’s actually a combination of a few things, but it’s working…I’m making and seeing progress.

When you look up and realize that you aren’t making progress in a particular area, you have to ask yourself, what have I been doing?

It has been a good idea for me to take the overall goal and look at it as a pie.  I begin to break the pie up into halves or chunks, looking at those pieces as short-term goals.  Afterward, break the halves into slices. The slices are what you do every day – your wellness routine that will eventually get you to accomplishing your overall goal.

#3 Goal Planning

I decided that making a calendar for the next 40 days was the way to go.  I would plan out my wellness routine on each day of the week as a guide to give me a framework in which to work.  Now, I had a few slips during the week but having a written guide to my wellness routine gives me structure and it gives me a goal to aim for. Here is my 40 day plan.

I’m so excited…  I made a blank printable for you to use.  It will help you in being more disciplined in your spiritual work or whatever you are working on being better at.

#4 Self Love

Which brings me to my most important lesson from last week.  If you don’t deem your time important, valuable and fill it with meaningful goal-oriented activities that will build you up and lead you to fulfill your vision for your life, then other situations, people, and circumstances will.  You may be left feeling empty or spent.  It is up to you to create structure in your daily schedule.

  • Build out your time.
  • Create your day.
  • Add containers of time.
  • Fill in the containers with the actions (slices of the pie) that will build toward your ultimate goals.
  • Know this is an act of self-love.
It’s great to have goals.  We all have them, but …
(1) What work are you doing daily towards the success of those goals? and…
(2) How are you tracking & ensuring your progress in accomplishing those goals?

🦋In a new era🫧

One thing I always talk about is my dreams, iykyk. One thing I always talk about is my dreams, iykyk. For over 15 years now I’ve been studying them— not simply as symbols to decode, but as a living dialogue between the conscious mind, the subconscious, and something bigger.

This has been shaping recent workshops and conversations I’ve been holding, including a dreamwork offering here in Costa Rica. (I’ve spent about 6 weeks here and it’s gifted me with many new lessons, along with some good ole sunshine)
.
To describe what’s been revealed and all the facets of dreams that interest me here in this post, I simply cannot. But I can say how exciting it is and how I believe it’s a key to this life (and others 😉) —

Of all the things I’ve learned, I do know that consistent dreamwork becomes an inner compass for waking life.

There’s no force now. Only allowing. 
Accept what has been made clear to you it’s ending and allow the new beginnings to emerge within your mind.
Listen all winter to its instructions, ideas, its vision and its plan. 
Take note, for as the sun rises and sets again, the new season will come and bring you action to take.

I’m relieved; happy that so many are doing their work around “healing”… 

I’ve watched the natural hair movement inspire veganism and the health conscious become mentally well aware and self care.  Our consciousness is evolving.

All healing because What’s real is the trauma that many have lived with, known nothing else and think is normal, and it’s ok. 
In many of our environments, toxic, twisted, trauma filled-lacking all truth—-filled-with-ego relating exists this way.
. 
As I prepare myself to restart my yoga asana practice, I was reflecting on why it had such a transformational effect on me. 
… because it engages the body.
Much Trauma is inherited, it’s generational and it’s stored in the body. It’s somatic.
.
“Healing/wholeing” will eventually need to include body work.  Especially for ethnic groups who’ve suffered mass atrocities, genocide, rape, abuse, etc and the subsequent affects while remaining unresolved for generations. 
Healing, becoming whole requires release down to the codes and traits linked in DNA—because that’s where it’s stored. 
. 
After you alter your diet, after you begin renewing your thinking  and unlearning…then you will need to do the work that only the body can do.

You are more than your physical body— you exist inside of your body.  you have a spiritual, mental, emotional and physical "body". There’s more to you and the world than what your two physical eyes can see and perceive. Don’t forget that!

As you cross paths with new information and different “schools of thought,” take the time to define the terms, look up the meaning of terminology so that you can build on a clear and precise understanding.  We think we know what something means because we have heard it being used in a certain way or we’ve seen it portrayed in a certain light through the mass media, but these are not always fact.
.
Differentiate history from religious doctrine and then begin to research the history and origins of the topics, concepts, beliefs or otherwise that you have subscribed to or are considering. You may find yourself quite surprised by the actuality of topics you held a differing perspective on.  Maintain the awareness that “history” is also a researched story told from someone’s perspective and not all histories are taught and shared.

What’s been helpful for your spiritual growth and evolution?
A feral woman doesn’t know she is feral. She may t A feral woman doesn’t know she is feral. She may think she is just exercising her right to be, and in that she is.

A feral woman is a woman who had been captured and imprisoned, lived in a freedom-starved place for so long, that her original instinct, her intuitive knowing of how to live and be- have been altered and damaged. Though now she is free and acts according to her drives with an uncalibrated inner GPS and the fences of her natural boundaries have been torn down, yet she doesn’t realize this. She is feral.

She may believe she acts on behalf of her own volition, yet she does not. She is unaware.
.
She is akin to an animal with little instinct…an animal born in captivity, then set free into the wild, whose existence is in danger. For she doesn’t know the dangers that are, so how can she know better.
.
She is the Fool of the Tarot unbeknownst  of the cliff she approaches.
.
She may be like the Indominus rex of Jurassic World, killing everything on sight or Sil from Species, just looking to f%$k.
.
A feral woman acts and does of only that which she knows and she does not know the world (or herself) as it truly is. 
SIS, TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR "FREE SPIRITED ACTIONS... And ask yourself if you are compensating, making up for lost time...
